To alert the donor mothers about the importance of breast milk and avoid waste due to contamination, we partnered with a group of specialist doctors and a glass designer. So we created a new packaging that solves this problem and helps raise the levels of milk banks. Just 1 ml of breast milk is enough for premature babies to survive for up to 1 day. Spearheaded by Dr. Andrea Fernandes of the Human Milk Bank and Dr. Cinthia Calsinski, along with designer Everaldo Fioravante, the Centric Child bottle with sanitary features was born, helping ensure safe milk storage and reducing improper handling.
The bottle's design incorporates recyclable, anti-vacuum, and can be sterilized for multiple uses, contributing to safer milk collection.
Since the initiative began, over 2.2 million liters of breast milk have been gathered, with more than $1.5 million in free media support, and the campaign site attracted over 51,000 visits in under a week. A major Brazilian baby product company is now set to start mass-producing this packaging.
